Moon Over The Ocean

I shot this (several years ago) while I was waiting for the sun to come up, so I could shoot the pier during the sunrise. As it turned out, I didn’t like the shot I took of the pier. It was not as colorful as I wanted, and it looked a bit boring. Because I ended up with something that morning, I wasn’t totally sad.

Rush Hour In Temecula

Rush hour in Temecula. This is what a typical morning looks like in Temecula, from the air. Most of the balloons launch in the morning. It is a sight to see. Many of the balloons launch from local wineries, and have breakfast and or lunch deals with a winery. I’ve been up several times, and would highly recommend it if you have never been up in a balloon. Is is very peaceful. Since you are floating in the wind, and wind is relative, it is dead calm in the balloon. There is nothing else like it in the world.

Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Flight Over Perris

Do you ever look off to your right, or left, while driving on the freeway in traffic, and wish you could pull over and take a photo? I do. All the time. I actually do pull over, and get out and take the shot. This morning this scene was unfolding right off the freeway. I carry a camera with me every day for just this reason. The photo is no award winner, but I sure satisfied my itch to shoot it. Does anyone else do this, or am I just crazy?

The Dawn of a New Day

Murrieta has plenty of rural roads that make great sunrise shots.

Flame On

Hot air balloon flying is one of the things I love to do. I have a friend who is a pilot, and I have been up a few times with him. Many things are fascinating to watch while in the balloon. Among them is the burner. It is amazing that a little heat up into the balloon creates enough lift to carry several people and a heavy basket over 2000 feet in the air. As you can see from the metadata below, I took this shot when we were at 2009 feet.
